The Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff installs on the main cold water line after the water meter, main shut-off and pressure reducing valve. It watches the home’s water flow, pressure and temperature in real time and reports to the Moen Flo app on iPhone or Android over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
From the app you can see live readings, set water use goals and choose Home, Away or Sleep modes. Flo runs Health Tests that check the plumbing for leaks, sends alerts for leaks and pressure problems and can shut the water off remotely or automatically. A manual backup shutoff on the unit works without the app. Flo also works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Alarm.com and Ring.
Three sizes match common main lines: 900-001 for 3/4 in, 900-006 for 1 in and 900-002 for 1-1/4 in. Each comes with threaded NPT brass tailpieces, an installation spacer, spare o-rings and a 12 VDC power adapter with a 10 ft cable. The unit is rated to 175 psi and Moen recommends a pressure reducing valve where house pressure is above 80 psi.
On well systems Flo goes after the pressure tank and treatment equipment or behind a 100 mesh wye strainer if it must sit ahead of filtration.

Maintenance
On well installs where Flo sits ahead of filtration, the required 100 mesh wye strainer screen may need periodic cleaning (Moen spec sheet).
