The StreamLabs Control is installed on the main water line, just after the main shut-off and pressure reducing valve and before any branches. It measures water flow with patented ultrasonic sensors, so there are no moving parts in the water path and reports to the free StreamLabs app over Wi-Fi.
You set what counts as a leak. In Home mode a slow leak can be flagged when flow above 0.1 to 1.0 gpm lasts from 1 to 60 minutes and a major leak when flow above 2 to 15 gpm lasts from 5 seconds to 30 minutes. Away mode flags any flow above 0.1 gpm. Smart Alerts learn your household’s usage and can shut the water off on abnormal use. Drip Detect runs daily, weekly or monthly pinhole leak tests and an automatic monthly valve check keeps the valve working.
The valve can be opened or closed from the app, by voice through Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa or with the buttons on the unit. It also sends alerts for water pressure, water temperature, ambient temperature and humidity.
It fits 3/4, 1 and 1-1/4 in lines with SharkBite or FNPT install kits and larger kits are available up to 2 in. It needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal and an outlet within reach of its 10 ft power cord.
