The VIQUA PRO10 is a Professional series ultraviolet (UV) system for a large home or small business such as a dental office. It is tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI 55 Class A and CSA B483.1 at 10 gpm (38 lpm; 2.2–2.3 m³/hr), which is the standard for disinfecting microbiologically contaminated water such as an untreated private well. VIQUA states it inactivates E. coli, fecal coliform, Cryptosporidium, Giardia and rotavirus.
A UV sensor and flow meter work together so the controller can show the real-time UV dose and raise an alarm if it drops. An optional solenoid valve can shut off the water if treatment falls below a safe level. LightWise technology dims the lamp when no water is flowing, which keeps the chamber below 40 °C and slows mineral build-up on the quartz sleeve. VIQUA estimates about 30% energy savings and up to 60% less sleeve fouling.
The PRO10 uses a single high-output amalgam lamp rated for up to two years. A CoolTouch fan cools the chamber and the sleeve locks with a quarter turn, so no tools are needed. The chamber must be installed vertically on the cold water line, after a 5 micron sediment filter.

Maintenance
Replace the 602854 UV lamp every two years (18,000 hours) when the controller alarms. Inspect and clean the 602974 quartz sleeve at each lamp change and replace it if it cannot be cleaned. LightWise extends the time between sleeve cleanings. Keep the 5 micron sediment pre-filter changed.
